PARKING LOT USE POLICY for 1101 UNIVERSITY AVE SE, MPLS, MN

University Lutheran Chapel has the responsibility for managing parking lot use at this location on behalf of the MNS District, LCMS.

Please note that this parking lot is to be used only by people who fit the following qualifications:

1. Members, staff, and students who regularly attend University Lutheran Chapel Services and Bible Studies;
2. Staff and clients meeting with them at Lutheran Counseling Center;
3. Staff and clients meeting with them at University LifeCare Center (312 – 11th Ave SE)
4. Students and other internationals who regularly and officially meet with a conversation partner at University Lutheran Chapel’s International Student Christian Resource Center;
5. Pastors and members of LCMS congregations having business at University Lutheran Chapel, Lutheran Counseling Center, or the University of Minnesota, upon requests made by those persons for this privilege.

Vehicles must be registered at the chapel office (user’s name, vehicle description, license plate number, and phone number where they can be reached).

Please fill the lot in this order:

1. back diagonal spaces,
2. mid-lot spaces (under tree)
3. spaces at far ends of the lot near the building.
4. Spaces nearest the building are reserved for ULC & LCC staff/clients as well as vendors & repairmen for the building.

If you do not meet the qualifications listed above, you need to find parking elsewhere. The signs posted at the entrance to the lot and throughout the lot will be followed for violators.

The Staff of University Lutheran Chapel reserves the right to withdraw parking privileges either temporarily for special Services and events in this building or, in the case of those who refuse to comply with lot use guidelines, completely. For special events, people will be notified either by notice on the car windshield, by email, or by phone call – usually in advance, unless an emergency arises.

All lot spaces marked with signage restricting use generally or by day & time are considered reserved for those parties.

During months of possible plowable snowfall (October through April), all vehicles must be removed from this lot no later than 9 p.m. and may not re-enter the lot until 7:30 a.m. when snowfall takes place to allow complete lot access by the contractor who clears our lot. During winters with heavy snowfalls, the number of available parking places are reduced. Additional restrictions may need to be put into place at those times. Again, notification of such restrictions will be made either by a note on the vehicle windshield, via e-mail, or by phone call.
